ABOUT ME
Passion for (Parametric) Building Design
Alex Christodoulou is a Computational Design Engineer, specialised in using advanced digital methodologies to enhance design decision-making and workflows in engineering and design. Combining a Structural and Building Engineering background with deep expertise in Parametric Design and Building Design Technology, he brings value to multiple AEC clients around the globe.
He began his career working for 8 years for Arup in Amsterdam, predominantly on parametric building design optimisation and computational building stock analysis projects, including iconic projects such as the Bernabeu stadium renovation and tower projects such as Valley, Sax and Ijburg Agora (MVRDV), Smakkelaarspark (Studioninedots) and Elements (Koschuch).
In September 2021 he left Arup to start the freelancing parametric design practice Ten Thousand Designs and simultaneously begun his PhD research on the intersection between Parametric Design and Machine Learning/AI.
He has presented papers on his computational and parametric design research in conferences like the IASS, SimAUD and the Design Modeling Symposium.
